We can't always control what is going on in our lives, but we can ALWAYS control how we react. It isn't easy, but it is very simple to STOP ourselves reacting in a certain way if we really want to. Look at it this way: why should we let someone else or circumstances control us? We can and should control ourselves. I remember telling a friend many years ago that something had upset me. I expected her to empathise with me, but she simply looked at me and asked: 'Why did you choose to be upset?' How true. The day I was there, a number of native Americans directly impacted by the destruction of the forest in Alberta (location of tar sands oil)were also involved in the protest. After I was released from jail, I watched as one of the Indians prayed in thanksgiving to the creator. Did the earth respond to our collective call for environmental justice? I think so, and I agree with you that we're running out of time to stop the ecocide that's about to go into high gear if this pipeline is approved by the president.
