Speaking Engagements
We creative types are often told the tall tales of "the struggling writer/artist." My goal is to reach out to young people and let them know that you can have a successful and productive career as a writer in various mediums. Through book readings and public speaking, I am happy to educate young and aspiring writers about the many ways to be a writer, and to encourage them to
follow their dreams.
Possible topics include (but are not limited to):
• My coming out story — As a visible gay author, I feel a responsibility to share my "coming out story" with adolescents who need a positive/successful role model to identify with.
• Being gay on campus — I learned a great deal when I was in college. And one of the biggest things I learned was that I was gay. Without a proper support system, I struggled and dealt with isolation. Support is everywhere. I'd love to help GLBT students find it.

my varied career as a writer, I’ve found that when you are a true
writer at heart and in soul you can write just about anything. It is my
goal to pass on that very knowledge as well as the confidence, passion
and pure enjoyment I have gained from writing to future aspiring minds.
